The Tetris shaped ice cube trays shown above (dubbed “icetris”) are the handy work of Dima Komissarov, a member of the Russian design studio Mystake. Unfortunately, the neon colored trays are not available for retro refreshment in the states just yet, and there is no word as to when that will change.

Kudos to the design team — the only thing left for them to create now is a giant rectangular glass big enough to hold a games worth of ice. By Ripten

Classic gaming gets an icy spin when you have Tetris shaped ice cubes

Like eating potato chips, Tetris was one of those games that you simply couldn’t play just once. We’ve seen other ways to get your Tetris fix before, but these ‘Icetris’ ice cube trays that pop out cubes in all of the classic Tetris shapes, are guaranteed to keep you swirling the ice in your highboy glass looking for the best gap free arrangement.

Just like the original, Icetris is a Russian creation, created by Dima Komissarov for the design site Mystake. Unfortunately, the Icetris trays are just a concept for now, but I think they’ve got a sure fire winner if they do go into production.

Take two very cool things and mix them together and what do you get? Something ice cold, if the Black Eyed Peas are to be believed.

And that’s exactly what we have here with this bona fide classic concept (why are the best things only ever concepts eh?) of putting Tetris into an ice cube tray.

Dreamt up in the deeply curious backrooms of Rusky design shop Mystake by one Dima Komissarov, the idea is to freeze up a few trays and then get Tetris playing fast and furious, before the buggers melt and dilute down your pint of Pimms.

We’re off to clear some room in the freezer in anticipation. By t3.com gadgets website

Given the heritage of Tetris, it’s only appropriate that these Icetris ice cube trays would come from Dima Komissarov of Russian design shop Mystake. With enough frozen blocks, you should be able to play a complete game in the confines of your hi-ball glass. The only downside I can see to playing Tetris with ice cubes, of course, is the fact that they might melt before you can even complete a row. By technabob
